Data on your device
Vic’s Clock stores design favorites and their names, imported background images, your saved home location, and previously resolved coordinate-to-time-zone mappings in the app’s storage. Preferences may also be stored in the system’s app settings. The app does not upload these data to its own server and does not implement cloud synchronization. Operating system backups may include app data.
Optional location access
When you choose to use your current location, the app requests permission and uses the operating system’s location services. It stops location updates after receiving a suitable result, when canceled, or after a maximum of 45 seconds. It does not continuously track your location in the background. You can revoke permission in system settings and continue entering coordinates manually.
GeoNames time zone requests
To identify a time zone, the app sends the selected latitude and longitude to secure.geonames.org over an encrypted HTTPS connection. This also applies to manually entered locations and locations chosen for a simulation. Starting with build 73, coordinates are rounded to two decimal places before transmission. Internal values used for display and astronomical calculations remain unchanged. Earlier builds transmit the internally stored precision.
The request includes the developer’s GeoNames service username, not a personal account belonging to the app user. The service also receives the connection’s IP address. GeoNames is provided by Unxos GmbH, Tutilostrasse 17d, 9011 St. Gallen, Switzerland. Service information: GeoNames
Requests may occur while previewing a changed location. Canceling the dialog does not undo a request already sent. Denying device location permission does not prevent time zone requests for manually entered coordinates.
No advertising or usage analytics in the app
The reviewed app code contains no advertising services, tracking SDKs, or developer-operated usage analytics. No user account is required.
Storage and deletion
You can delete favorites within the app, but at least one favorite must remain. Deleting a favorite does not automatically remove imported image copies. The local time zone cache is retained independently. On iPhone, deleting the app removes its local data; offloading the app preserves them. Existing device backups are not automatically deleted.
Email support
If you contact us, your email address, message, and any information you voluntarily include are used to handle your inquiry. Please avoid sending information that is not needed for that purpose. Support emails are deleted no later than six months after receipt.

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. When you request a page, the hosting provider processes technical connection information, including your IP address, request time, requested address, and information sent by your browser. This supports page delivery, troubleshooting, and website security. Data may be processed outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States.
Netlify’s Data Processing Agreement is incorporated into its terms and includes provisions for international transfers. See Netlify’s privacy policy and Data Processing Agreement. A specific retention period covering all technical logs has not been confirmed.
The website code sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising scripts, and loads no external fonts. Email links open your email application. External websites are contacted only when you follow their links.
Purposes and legal bases
Providing selected app features and handling contractual support requests is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Optional device location access relies on your consent under Article 6(1)(a). Secure website delivery and responses to general inquiries serve the legitimate interest in providing reliable information and support under Article 6(1)(f).
Your rights
Subject to legal conditions, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may withdraw consent for the future. Contact the address above to exercise your rights. You may also complain to a data protection authority, including the Austrian Data Protection Authority.
Pending information from GeoNames
The transmission of the request data described above has been verified in the app. Reliable information about how long GeoNames retains these data and any further uses by that provider has not yet been established. This notice will be updated when reliable information is available.
